Collections
Founded in 1882, the Princeton University Art Museum is one of the leading university art museums in the country. From a founding gift of a collection of porcelain and pottery, the collections have grown to over 72,000 works of art, with over 4000 objects searchable online, that range from ancient to contemporary art and concentrate geographically on the Mediterranean regions, Western Europe, China, the United States, and Latin America. The Museum is continually adding to its online database.
Changing highlights of the Museum's collections are on view in the galleries. Study access to works of art not on public display is available to faculty, students, and qualified scholars by appointment. Please call the Museum’s Registrar's Office at (609) 258-3766 to schedule a study appointment.
